Depleted Uranium – Far Worse Than 9/11

This is a deeply disturbing article about the atrocious consequences of the use of Depleted Uranium by the US forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It is long but well worth the read.

In the article the link to pictures of birth defects is itself defect. Here is the right link:

GULF WAR SYNDROME BIRTH DEFECTS IN IRAQ CHILDREN BABIES EXTREME BIRTH DEFORMITIES DEPLETED URANIUM AMMUNITION

Warning: These are seriously ugly pictures.

CONCLUSIONS:

If terrorists succeeded in spreading something throughout the U.S. that ended up causing hundreds of thousands of cancer cases and birth defects over a period of many years, they would be guilty of a crime against humanity that far surpasses the Sept. 11th attacks in scope and severity. Although not deliberate, with our military campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan, we have done just that. If the physical environment is so unsafe and unhealthy that one cannot safely breath, then the outer trappings of democracy have little meaning. At least under Saddam, the Iraqi people could stay healthy and conceive normal children. Few Americans are aware that in getting rid of Saddam, we left something much worse in his place.

Why shouldn’t Iran have nuclear weapons?

Independent Online Edition:Why shouldn’t Iran have nuclear weapons?

By James C Moore
Why shouldn’t Iran have nuclear weapons?
Israel has American warheads ready to fire.
Iranians see only hypocrisy from the world’s nuclear powers

No, but really! Why shouldn’t they??? What are the actual arguments used by USA and others?

Bush didn’t attack Iraq so that you could have cheap gasoline!

Interesting article about OIL in USA and Iraq. Has good links to facts about deals given to US oil companies in Iraq

(A funny thing is that I actually thought the Iraq-war was going to bring cheaper oil-prices, so I also bought into that propaganda. I remember having to refill my 2500 L oil-tank just prior to the Iraq-war, and I found it funny that even though I was principally against the invasion – as an oil-customer I thought I would benefit from the war, so I hedged my bets and only pumped the tank half-full)

The war on Iraq was never about WMDby Len Hart

It’s always been about oil but more specifically: big oil profits! Recent big oil contracts prove it. And so do record prices at the pump.

This 2003 link shows who gets the Iraqi oil:

lucrative contracts now awarded to British Petroleum, Shell and Chevron

And another great link that shows how USA lured Saddam into attacking Kuwait, so they could use that as an excuse to attack Iraq, because Iraq was pumping too much oil thus lowering the prices, and hurting US oil-profits:

Defining Incompetence

Defining Incompetence:

CEO summary:
Pentagon hasn’t reached it’s official goals of freeing Iraq, so they’re pulling the same ‘incompetence explanation stunt’ that they used successfully on 911.
Oh – we’re so stupid we can’t achieve what we said we wanted to achieve
If on the other hand you evaluate their achievements against another set of goals; mainly to destabilize Iraq and maintain Military presence, then they’re actually very successfully fulfilling their goals.
Oh – we’re so clever that we achieve exactly what we want, while marketing the campaign with a phony public agenda, making ourselves look stupid to provide a cloak.”
Eh…?

Media Disinformation and Death Squads in Occupied Iraq

A very lengthy article. Hence I haven’t read it entirely, but I assume it pins USA for being proactively responsible for the current civil-war-like conditions in Iraq.
Crying Wolf: Media Disinformation and Death Squads in Occupied Iraq

Abstract

The phenomenon of death squads operating in Iraq has become generally accepted over recent months. However, in its treatment of the issue, the mainstream media has zealously followed a line of attributing extrajudicial killings to unaccountable Shia militias who have risen to prominence with the electoral victory of Ibramhim Jafaari’s Shia-led government in January. The following article examines both the way in which the information has been widely presented and whether that presentation has any actual basis in fact. Concluding that the attribution to Shia militias is unsustainable, the article considers who the intellectual authors of these crimes against humanity are and what purpose they serve in the context of the ongoing occupation of the country.
