This article is mostly interesting when the comments are also considered, because the two together form the discussion of what were really the goals of the American military adventures in Afghanistan and Iraq, and thus whether the invasions are really successes or failures.
This article takes the stance that based on the official goals, the invasions have been failures.
I personally tend to share the opinion that the real purposes of the invasions have been mainly to create turmoil in the region as a cover for permanent military presence, and further aggresion.
